Invitation—Kiel-Göttingen-CEPR Conference China in the Global Economy, Berlin, July 17-18, 2025
We are pleased to invite you to the international conference organized by the Kiel Institute, the University of Göttingen, and CEPR. This 2nd edition of the conference will bring together leading scholars and policymakers to explore China’s multifaceted role in the global economy.

China today stands as the world’s leading exporter and a major global investor, using a state-led model that contrasts with Western approaches. Its strategic use of economic influence makes it central to global geoeconomics. Despite shared interest in global stability, tensions with Europe persist over market access, competition, and key industries.
