Since September 2019, Prof. Dr. Andreas Fuchs is the new Professor of Development Economics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The chair investigates issues of development economics relevant to economic and development policy from a political economic perspective and with quantitative methods. The research focuses on international development, trade and investment policy with a special focus on emerging economies, especially China. In addition, the chair deals with the political economy of natural disasters, conflicts, migration and international organizations.
