Abstract: This paper assesses the global implications of the PRC’s AI strategy. Examining recent regional and global transformations from the perspective of role theory, it looks at the re-steering of the Chinese (gig)economy under the fifth generation and outlines strategic role adjustments and position changes.
The lecture series is co-organized and co-sponsored by Göttingen’s Centre for Modern East Asian Studies as well the Kiel Institute China Initiative.
