Prof. Xiaoming Fu Ph.D. joined the CeMEAS in July 2023. He is a Chair Professor (W3) of Computer Science and head of the Computer Networks Group at the University of Göttingen. He received his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2000, then worked as research scientist at TU Berlin until joining Göttingen in 2002, where he has been a tenured professor since early 2007 and the founding director of the Sino-German Institute of Social Computing since 2015.
In the areas of networked systems and applications, including cloud computing, mobile/edge computing, social computing and big data analytics, he has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles in leading conferences (e.g., SIGCOMM, INFOCOM, ICNP, ICDCS, CoNEXT, WWW, IJCAI, AAAI) and journals (e.g., JSAC, TON, TMC, TPDS, TC, TKDE, TKDD, TDSC, TIFS) and actively participated in various research programs sponsored by EU, federal and state ministries as well as industries, including as the coordinator and chief scientist for EU MobileCloud, CleanSky, GreenICN and ICN2020 projects.
He has served as Chair of IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Internet, an Editorial Board member of IEEE Network, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, and IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, and is co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Social Computing.
He is an IEEE Fellow, an ACM Distinguished Scientist, and a member of Academia Europaea.
